We have 2, 2019 models in stock one is Frost (white) top panels and Saphire (blue) bottom panels with gray interior, hydraulic steering, Hummingbird Helix 5 GPS/DF, and privacy enclosure, this boat is powered by Yamaha, either F115XB or F150XB.
The other 2019 2285RL we have in stock has Onyx top panels with Champagne bottom panels, powered by Evinrude. It has the same options as the other 2285RL, performance shield, lifting strakes, hydarulic steering, Hummingbird Helix 5 GPS, privacy enclosure.
On all our 22' models we put the performance sheeting and lifting strakes. This adds 8mph to the boat with a Yamaha F150. It out performs comparable tri toon models and draws about 10" less water than 3 tube models. This boat will run 40mph when rigged with a 150 hp engine!
A note about performance shields and lifting strakes:
Performance shields are aluminum sheeting covering the cross members on the underside of the pontoon boat. As a pontoon runs through the water, water is constantly being sprayed up on the underside of the boat. When this spray hits the cross members under the boat, it actually slows the boat, not critically, but to some degree. By adding the aluminum sheeting , the sheeting covers the cross members and allows the water to slide across the bottom.
Lifting stakes are aluminum extrusions added to the inside of the pontoons. They are about 6 inches wide and run the entire length the bottom of the pontoon, usually attached (welded) to the inside of the pontoon. Some manufacturers will add these to the outside of the pontoons as well. These lifting strakes, do just that, as the boat is powered up they help the pontoons lift up. This makes the boat plane faster, plus keeps more of the pontoons out of the water as it is under way. All in all they give the boat more speed and easier steering on plane.
22’ Misty Harbor pontoons when powered with 150hp engines typically run about 35MPH, when adding the lifting stakes and performance shields we have seen 43 to 45mph on the exact same package, 8 - 10mph increase. This makes the boat in my opinion perform as well if not better than triple tube pontoon boats. Triple tube pontoons typically draw a lot more water than 2 tube pontoons. By adding the lifting strakes and performance package you get the better speeds and handling as of a 3 tube pontoon but with a lot less draft and a lot less money!
